The National Arts Council of Namibia will open a new funding cycle in February 2027 to support local artists, students, and professionals in the creative sector with grants and bursaries.
The National Arts Council of Namibia (NACN) announced preparations for its next funding cycle starting in early February 2027, aimed at nurturing local creative talents and supporting sustainable livelihoods in the arts industry. The council offers various programmes including grants, bursaries for arts-related studies, and mobility funding to help artists gain international exposure.
Despite successful funding rounds benefiting multidisciplinary artists, NACN highlighted ongoing challenges with limited awareness among creatives across Namibia's 14 regions. The council continues advocacy and outreach efforts to ensure wider access to its support. Beneficiaries like Witlog Kamatoto praised the council’s assistance, which helped him grow his business and prepare for an upcoming exhibition.
